Date: Tuesday, December 12 @ 21:42:32 GMT Topic: ONABEN
Carl Flipper, a longtime activist in North Portland's Humboldt neighborhood, passed away on November 24, from complications of multiple myeloma.
Flipper moved to Portland from Lewiston, Idaho in 1991, where he served as an assistant professor of business at Lewis-Clark State College and director of the Idaho Small Business Development Center.
Carl later became apart of our ONABEN family through serving as one of our consultants.
"He was a thoughtful man, a student of many things: York (Lewis and Clark expedition), Buffalo Soldiers, entrepreneurs, baseball, human nature...Carl cared a great deal for all kinds of people and could engage them all no matter their class, color, or stripe. Carl will be missed," Tom Hampson, Executive Director of ONABEN, shared.
To learn more about Carl and the wonderful contributions he made, please read this article in The Oregonian.
