youth entrepreneur pilot program
*funded by Spirit Mountain Community Fund and Key Bank Foundation
ONABEN believes that working with youth is one of the most important strategies we implement. Our youth are our opportunity for real change.
Through our Native Youth Entrepreneurial Strategies Initiative, approximately 10–15 youth will participate in workshops where they successfully prepare for business by developing their personal financial capabilities, goal setting skills, and ability to navigate opportunities and challenges. These efforts are part of a larger multi-year initiative to adapt our nationally renowned Indianpreneurship® curriculum to a comprehensive entrepreneurial and finance learning platform for Native youth.
During the pilot program we will incorporate a variety of educational training techniques, including classroom instruction, interactive activities, and technology based lessons. Similar to our existing Indianpreneurship® curriculum, youth participants will learn how to navigate the challenges associated with starting and growing a business in Indian Country.
