SPARKING INNOVATION IN INDIAN COUNTRY
With over 27 years of experience in providing deep and extensive assistance, networking, capacity building support, and training, ONABEN has sparked innovative movements. These movements have empowered thousands of Native American entrepreneurs and organizations and spurred sustainable economic growth in over 120 tribal communities. Take a look at the project profiles below to see how we are creating change.
EMPOWERING ENTREPENUERS & GRASSROOTS CAPACITY BUILDING DEVELOPMENT
Through our Empowering Entrepreneurs & Grassroots Capacity Building Development project, ONABEN worked with Native communities throughout the country, to implement sustainable economic development strategies.
NATIVE WOMEN ARTIST ACCELERATORS
ONABEN’s accelerator programs provide culturally appropriate training and assistance to Native women artisans. Those services aim to accelerate the growth and success of Native-owned businesses.
SOCIAL ENTREPRENUERSHIP INITIATIVE
In 2011 ONABEN embarked on a broad scope initiative with Northwest Area Foundation to challenge a cohort of nine nonprofits and community development financial institutions (CDFIs) working in Indian Country to search for impacts through the lens of social entrepreneurship.
Through the years ONABEN has always been an active voice advocating for economic development for Indian Country. In 2016, we took that voice and narrowed its view to a specific focus on financial inclusion through participating in an initiative facilitated by Prosperity Now and funded by the Northwest Area Foundation.
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT STRATEGIES
ONABEN's Youth Empowerment Strategies Initiative (Native YES) assists in the development of young, Native leaders, and the creation of emerging, entrepreneurial communities, while also establishing the importance of innovation, critical thinking, and resilience.
